The Trial version at the end of the trial will give an option of upgrading, Do not use that option.
Use the above link to purchase the Full PD 10 Ultra, that way you get all of the contents of the product.
You can Install the Downloaded or box version on the new computer by running the installation files on the new computer.
If you do The Download Version, be sure to burn a DVD of the Downloaded Files and your confirmation Email to the Disk.
You need those files if anything goes wrong or your computer crashes and you lose everything.

Solved byJun 14, 2012 17:45 I just got a new computer about a month ago and finally got around to installing my copy of PowerDirector 10 I got for Christmas. Whenever I import a video, I get error code h.264 telling me to activate my product with 30 (now 29) days remaining. I do so and it always says 'Activation unsuccessful, you may have fallen victim to pirated software'. That is definitely not the case because my parents bought it off Amazon and I used it many times on my old computer and never received that error code. I have also uninstalled it from my old computer. I have the disc and the CD key.
Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

If you fail to get the components activated, your only recourse is Cyberlink Support.

You won't have any problem when you upgrade your PC.
Just keep a copy of all your installer files & your CD-key (activation code). Once your new PC is set up, just install & apply the CD-key.
Be aware that some components of the software need to be activated within 30 days of installation.

Nov 05, 2013 10:02 I received the same error message after reinstalling my legitimately purchased PowerDirector 11 Ultra software on my fresh copy of Windows 7. I had used the program without problems for 6 months, it is registered with its serial number on my Cyberlink account. Yet, when I addressed Cyberlink Tech Support with the issue, they advised me that I must have pirated software and that I should get a refund - 6 months later!!! I found that was a snarky reply and they have not yet answered my follow-up communications. I need the Codecs activated because for the program to work properly.

Please note that I must have activated the components properly during my previous installation (I don't recall for sure) since they I imported MPEG-2 and H.264 without a problem. This time around, I tried to activate them the day after reinstalling the program and received that error message that suddenly my software was supposedly 'pirated'. Terrible tech support! Real arrogant!
